COM Express™ (aka ETXexpress™) is an open PICMG® standard
for Computer-On-Modules, comprised of latest
technologies such as PCI Express, Serial ATA, Gigabit Ethernet and SDVO.
With dimensions of 170mm x 170mm, the XV3 is a Mini-ITX size COM Express™ Module
evaluation platform. The XV3 is equipped with a full range of I/O connectors,
such as Gigabit Ethernet, DVI-I Dual-Screen-Video, SATA and USB. A CompactFlash socket
is provided for a CF storage card. The XV3 is powered via any ATX power supply.

With up to four RS-232/RS-485 serial ports and several GPIO lines the XV3 is well suited
for any industrial application. In addition, the XV3 is equipped with two PMC Module sockets,
which can be used for standardized PMC I/O mezzanine cards.
With its XV3, EKF offers a versatile small footprint carrier board for any
COM.0 Type 2 compliant COM Express™ Module, with a variety of options for
additional PMC based mezzanine I/O. Furthermore, EKF provides design support
for custom specific COM Express carrier boards and modules, including BIOS modification.
